The forecast for a calm lake found NE winds with 3 to 4 ft waves. Walleye were taken running a dipsy program 9 miles North of Vermilion. This nice fish took a crawler harness.

7/18/13 The walleye drift fishing really picked up Tuesday. Many limit catches were taken in the off shore waters of Vermilion.Weapons tipped with night crawlers fished slowly across the bottom proved to be the ticket. Back at the dock by noon with a 6 man crew.
Tuesday July 9th trolling off shore from Vermilion. Another hot humid day with threat of storms. Fishing spoons, night crawler harnesses, and stick baits was productive. A nice box of big walleye at the end of the day. Good time for the Taggart crew.
Monday July 8th 2013 Fishing weapons off the rocky breaks just west of Vermilion was productive in the am. Nice overcast day with a good south west breeze. Fish were tight to bottom but willing to take a crawler.
After 3 days of North East wind back on the lake today. Hot and calm but walleye were willing to take harnesses tipped with night crawlers. This young angler was rewarded with a nice eye, his first on the big lake.
Another great day of fishing off shore in Vermilion. These fish were taken trolling night crawler harnesses off jet divers. A group of Pennsylvania anglers enjoyed a productive day.
Drift fishing along the rocky shore line of Vermilion proved to be productive. The white perch have been bad, take a lot of bait but the walleye are there. Trolling off shore has been producing a lot of big fish, dodging storms all week but a good week of fishing.

6/21/13 Friday The weather finally warmed up the wind got out of the North East and the big fish were hungry. Walleye fishing was very productive North West of Lorain trolling Jet Divers and harnesses and dipsy divers. Many big fish were taken. We had 7 fish over 28 inches and 1 over 31 inches.
